MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – January 9, 2017 5:00 PM

Ed updated the board on town vehicles. The town’s pickup truck is out of service until mid-February. The truck is being serviced at Sarat Ford waiting for a transmission part. The transfer case is being replaced under warranty on the Tolland cruiser which is also out of service.
Fire Chief, Eric reached out to the State Surplus Program to obtain free equipment and items lost in the fire. This program is only available to fire departments, but due to the fire Eric was able to get an approval from the state coordinator to use the program for DPW equipment. There is the possibility of obtaining a lot of the lost equipment and tools through this program at no cost other than shipping.
Ed stated that the large equipment has already been purchased or commented to being purchased with the monies received from the insurance claim. Ed thought receiving equipment to be used as a backup would help. As far as other items a list is being put together. Eric will look further into the program once a list is complied.
Ed wanted authorization to use compensation time to attend a 4 day training class for the Police Department. Ed was asked to total up his overtime hours and the board will discuss it further at their next meeting.
